EMI WORKSHOPS AT FFRI

In September 2019 the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka hosted three EMI training events/workshops for UNIRI teachers and teacher trainers:

- The Pedagogy Workshop was run by Slobodanka Dimova from the University of Copenhagen on 12 September 2019.

- The Language Workshop, organised on 18 September 2019, was held by Branka Drljača Margić and Irena Vodopija-Krstanović from the University of Rijeka, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. 

- The ICC Workshop took place on 24 September 2019, and was run by Denise McAllister from Maastricht University.

EMI PRACTICES IN EUROPE

TAEC project team organised the “EMI Practices in Europe” conference, held at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, on 4 - 5 April 2019.

This two-day conference consisted of presentations of current research into and experience from EMI practices, as well as workshop sessions where practitioners, researchers and EMI trainers shared best practice concerning the methods related to teaching in a second language.

PARTICIPATION IN A CALIBRATION EVENT

FFRi team members Branka Drljača Margić and Irena Meštrović Štajduhar took part in the calibration event “A model for relating local EMI language certification to the CEFR”, held at the University of Copenhagen from 9 - 11 October 2018.

TAEC PROJECT PRESENTATIONS

POSTER PRESENTATION

On 10 May 2018 FFRi team members Branka Drljača Margić, Irena Meštrović Štajduhar and Irena Vodopija-Krstanović presented a poster outlining the TAEC project agenda and objectives.

PUBLIC TALK

On 14 June 2018 Branka Drljača Margić, the team leader of the Rijeka contingent, gave a public talk titled “English-medium instruction at the University of Rijeka: From local EJVIN to transnational TAEC”.
